Chocolate Extravaganza

Nothing says dessert quite like chocolate! In this one night class we will prepare molten lava cakes, white chocolate macadamia nut cookies and take home a fudge sauce to die for! Bring your sweet tooth, an empty container or two and a friend for a night of sinful decadence.

We will also learn the history of chocolate and how it was used as currency! Recipes and generous samples of all things we create will be distributed. Laughter and brimming bellies guaranteed!

Debra Arter has been cooking international dishes for her family and others for many years.

Creative Writing Workshop - Session 1

This ongoing workshop offers participants an opportunity to get the creative juices flowing, overcome the internal critic, and let heart and soul flow out onto the page! Just as importantly, it also provides a tight knit, supportive community of fellow writers with whom to share the fruits of your labor. The instructor, Elizabeth Potter, will present proven writing prompts and techniques to tickle your muse and coax even the most hesitant voice onto the page.

Elizabeth Potter is a teacher and poet residing in midcoast Maine. Her new collection of poetry “T’ai Chi of Leaves” was released by Moon Pie press in September 2016. Her poems have also been widely published in literary journals both locally and nationally. Elizabeth has been leading creative writing workshops for all ages for the past seventeen years.

Crossbow Safety

This is a required course for anyone applying for a crossbow hunting license. It covers the history of crossbows, responsibility and ethics, shooting and handling, laws and safety, and special concerns. A test will be administered and certification awarded.

Dance Flow Hooping; Intermediate Level

Hooping benefits the mind, body and soul! Hoop dance flow is an intermediate class that will add flare and grace to your hooping. We will work on tricks and transitions, as well as entry and exit methods to create your own kind of flow. This class will move with music and choreography to keep you hooping all night long! Come have fun and discover a whole new you! Hoops are provided with the option to buy!

New England based hooper Nikki Hunt has been hooping for 11 years and teaching hoop dance for the past six years. As lead singer/hooper of The Nikki Hunt Band for the past 8 years, Nikki has performed all over New England at various events ranging from Cirque du Soliel to Kidabaloo.

Today’s writers must also be marketers of their work. Regardless of your publication path, understand your options and the best ways to leverage your marketing materials and available tools across multiple social media outlets.

Lee Heffner began working with creatives in 1995 andtransitioned into writing in 1998. She specializes in one-on-one coaching sessions to help individual writers overcome creative hurdles and wrote her book, “Write to Finish”, to support that work.

Designing Your Landscape in Spring

Calendar Apr 10, 2018 at 6 pm, runs for 8 weeks

Have you always wanted to develop a plan to make the most of your yard and gardens? Then this field-based class is for you. After the first meeting classes will meet at each participant’s property where individualized, site-specific options will be explored. Organic practices will be emphasized as will the incorporation of native plants, especially those important for birds, bees, butterflies and other beneficials. Please give us your physical address when registering. The first night is for information and planning for all participants; dates and times of subsequent meetings will be determined by participants. This class also includes a visit to the instructor's nursery in Washington. Registration $85 plus $10 for materials (handouts) to be paid to instructor. Approximately 8 weeks total, with some meetings at gardens on weekdays and some on weekends. 6:00-8:00 p.m. (first class only)

Sharon Turner is a certified Master Gardener Volunteer, consultant, educator and designer. She grows for Fedco Trees and teaches for MOFGA. At her nursery in Washington she specializes in heirloom and open-pollinated vegetable and flower seedlings and native perennials, shrubs and trees.
