Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

CLC Adult Education and LincolnHealth co-sponsor a FREE 180-hour minimum Certified Nursing Assistant training course. This CNA program is open to all adults by application only. Successful graduates are eligible to work in many areas of the health care field. The September class is closed but a new class will be starting January, 2019. The course is open to all adults by application and interview process. Applications will be available in November. You may call LincolnHealth Education (563-4540) to have an application packet sent to you. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED/ HiSET in order to be considered for the course. *** CNA Paid Apprenticeship Program *** (Subject to availability) “Earn while you Learn” LincolnHealth/CLC Adult Education and Midcoast School of Technology are offering an “Earn while you Learn” opportunity. Through a paid apprentice program, you can earn money for your CNA training with an expected commitment to work in a Long Term Care setting for 18 months. An application and interview are required to be considered for this program. A limited number of applicants are accepted. Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) Certification Course

This is a 40-hour course designed to teach residential care workers to administer selected non-injectable medications in a Licensed Residential Care or Group Home setting. The course provides the basic understanding necessary to administer medications safely and to document accurately. Successful completion of this course satisfies departmental training requirements for workers who wish to pass medications in certain assisted housing programs. There is some homework required with this course and students must attend all 40 hours in order to be certified. Students are responsible for arranging their own clinical experience necessary for certification. If you are not already affiliated with a licensed facility you will need to discuss arrangements with the Adult Ed director when you apply. There is a required application process for this course. The application must be completed and approved prior to registration. Payment plans and some fee reductions are available. Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) RE-Certification Course

This is a review and re-testing for people who already hold a CRMA certificate and wish to renew their certification. Sept 4th is a one day course, including recertification testing on that day. In November, the first day 11/20 will be a review day with the actual re-certification done on the second day 11/27. You must provide a copy of your current certificate along with your registration for this course.

We will cover all the basics, including how to prepare the all-important demo, and how to be successful and earn great income in this exciting field. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and to hear examples of demos recorded by professional voice actors. Class participants will even have a chance to record a commercial script under the direction of a real producer! This class is informative, lots of fun, and a great first step for anyone interested in voice acting professionally

Cutting woodworking joints by hand is the hallmark of fine craftsmanship. In this class you will learn to cut mortise and tenon and dovetail joints using hand tools. There will be a $10 materials fee payable to the instructor. All tools provided.

Learn to flatten a board, smooth it, straighten and square the edges, make and adjust rabbit joints, do chamfers, and much more, all with handplanes. Learn the anatomy of the tool and learn which planes do which jobs. Bring your granddad’s rusty old plane or your brand new one, if you like, and learn how to tune it up and make it whisper while it’s taking off gossamer curls
